Ideas On Project Specification

I hope everyone has had a look at the spec. sheet =).

It would be good if each of us could post our thoughts on parts of the spec. so that we brainstorm and gather ideas.

I shall post my own thoughts later this evening.

As I touched on earlier, as far as I can see we have 3 main branches:

Booking
Staffing
Marketing

With the statistical information spanning across them all.

Before we see our customer, I think we need to figure out what information we need about each section.

I've had a good look through the spec and made a couple of pages of notes of ideas I have. I wont type them up because I will be here all night, but I will bring them with me to show you all tomorrow...

I think there is alot of information we are going to need from our customer before we can figure out too much, but we can obviously make sure we have enough questions prepared before the meeting. We can discuss these tomorrow and I'll get them all typed up before the meeting, hopefully we will all have a few different ideas between us to enable us to make the most of it!

I have been having a few difficulties with the marketing side of the Spec because I am not sure how we are going to implement promotions into a software system, so if anyone has any bright ideas then they will be much appreciated!

From what I can see it looks like we're gonna need a couple of databases anyway.....

Yeah I totally agree Emma Jane. I have written down some questions I was thinking about and thoroughly read the spec also.

I have an insight into doing promotions in a system, as this problem came up during my project last year as well. Obviously the implementation will be different this year but from what i can see the method is similar.

Rather than explain it here, I'll bring my ideas with me when we next meet.

As with the others, i have looked at the spec and taken notes, but i'll hold those for later.
